What’s in my photography bag? ~ Quad Cities Wedding Photographer

March 8, 2018

Hi, all! Today I want to tell you a little more about the tools I use to capture images. This is an extensive list, but remember, I have spent years acquiring these tools.

I get my equipment from a local camera store, The Camera Corner in Davenport, Iowa. Though visiting a brick and mortar store is not as convenient as merely ordering online, the customer service, troubleshooting, and assistance is well worth the drive time. I also use B&H and Amazon for occasional photography needs.

Below are the cameras, lenses, and tools I carry with me for any shoot, as well as the tools I use in-studio.

Camera bag:

Jo Totes Gracie Camera Bag in Marsala

Camera:

Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Body

Lenses:

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

Lens Accessories:

Hoya 49mm Alpha MC UV filter

Canon ES 68 Lens Hood

Hoya 58mm Alpha MC UV filter

Canon ET 65 III Lens Hood

Tiffen 77mm UV Protector Filter

Tools:

Shutter Huggers

ExpertImaging ExpoDisc 2.0 77mm White Balance Filter

Westcott 6-in-1 Illuminator Reflector Kit (42″)

Vello Rapid Lens Changer for Canon EF/ EF-S

Flashes:

Nissin Di700A Flash Kit with Air 1 Commander (2)

Tripod:

Manfrotto MT190X3 Aluminum Tripod

Tripod Head:

Manfrotto 322RC2 Grip Action Ball Head

Memory Cards:

SanDisk 32GB Extreme UHS-I SDHC Memory Cards (6)

The world of cameras and lenses and accessories can be confusing and overwhelming. Do your research. Ask a lot of questions. Read reviews. And perhaps most importantly- remember that fancy devices don’t make the picture. Spend just as much money on education and training as equipment. It will pay off!
