One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is seeing the couple’s vision come to life. Curt and Ali had a naturally-elegant, almost-rustic plan for their wedding day. They incorporated so many unique touches– Curt’s love for hunting is artfully reflected in the men’s boutonnieres, while Ali’s amazing hand-painting and artistic talents were showcased within their reception.
For the past couple weeks, Ali and I wondered whether she would, indeed, have snow on her wedding day. I mean, who plans a January wedding in the Midwest without envisioning snowy embraces and snuggly portraits? Lo and behold, Mother Nature came through for us. Not only were we expecting snow, but an ice AND snow storm was set to impact the Quad Cities area Friday through Saturday evening. While the forecast wasn’t exactly spot on, we did get enough to give us white ground, snowy trees, and fat flakes for their portraits!
Curt and Ali, congratulations on officially tying the knot! Enjoy your honeymoon together and the many years that follow! Enjoy some of my favorites from your wedding day!
